RUNDU, 05 NOV (NAMPA) – The Kavango Trade Fair and Agricultural Show kicked off here on Tuesday, with various local and international exhibitors showcasing their wares at the annual event.
It is being held under the theme ‘Unlocking trade potential’, and is taking place at the old Saw Mill industrial area from today until Sunday.
The trade fair is mainly aimed at helping local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their products and services. It also gives them a platform to network with other upcoming businesses.
When Nampa visited the trade fair this morning, some of the local exhibitors had high hopes of gaining business experience, and getting into touch with some established businesses, both local and international.
Kavango Trade Fair and Agricultural Show promoter Peter Immanuel said on Tuesday that this year’s fair is going to be bigger and better than previous years, as some of the international exhibitors have come from as far as Botswana, South Africa and Zambia, amongst other countries, to participate.
About 350 stalls have been erected here, with the display of products including foodstuffs and various services, including those from government agencies.
Meanwhile, the trade fair is expected to be officially opened on Wednesday by Gender Equality and Child Welfare Minister Rosalia Nghidinwa.
Standard Bank Namibia, who are the main sponsors of the trade fair, pledged an amount of N.dollars 70 000 earlier.
