President Pohamba votes

President Pohmba voted for his last time as President this morning around 8am at Suiderhof Primary school. He was accompnied by the First Lady Madam Pohamba.

PM Hage Geingob turned up at katutura Central Community hall to cast his vote around 10:00am today.

Founding Father Dr Sam Nujoma cast his vote at the United House in Independence Avenue at 9h00 this morning. The Founding Father was received by Swapo Secretary General Nangolo Mbumba.

McHenry Venaani voted at Baines where a large crowd of about 300 people queued to vote. After casting his vote Venaani sought clarification from officials saying when he coted in the NA booth the red light went on and heard the beep but when he was voting for President the Red light did not go on and he did not hear the beep. ECN officials assured him that thats the way it was meant to work and that his vote registered. he did not hear the beep because the ECN desk is outside the booth. Venaani accpted the explanation and assurance.

He went on to say that the voting process is slow and there should be more EVM and booths to speed it up. people are coming in seeing the long queue and leaving hoping that it will be shorter when they come back later. He also urged the namibian public to go out and vote.

After voting Venaani said that this year's campaign is the most rigorous the DTA have carried out and they are counting on the public to cast their vote for them. There are a lot of issues facing the country and the DTA is best placed to meet them.

Swanu President Usutuaije was 39th in the queue at Unam and voted thereafter. The venue is dark so the ECn staff are using a UV light torch. The voters have to vote in the presence of officers who hold the light up so voters can see. the Swanu president is not impressed at all.
