Job-three suspended from Swapo
Swapo’s top leadership decided last night that the three Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL) members who made themselves guilty of 'land grabbing' in Windhoek's Kleine Kuppe suburb be prohibited with immediate effect from taking part in any activities of the ruling party.
Swapo’s Secretary-General Nangolo Mbumba confirmed that Job Amupanda, who earlier resigned as the SPYL’s secretary for information and mobilisation, Dimbulukeni Nauyoma, SPYL district secretary for the Tobias Hainyeko constituency, and George Kambala, a SPYL branch leader, have been suspended.
“Their case has been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee, under the chairmanship of Dr Ngarikutuke Tjiriange, who will now investigate the issue and listen to the three suspended members after which the disciplinary committee will forward its recommendations to the Swapo leadership.”
Earlier, SPYL deputy secretary Veikko Nekundi sent a request on behalf of a youth faction to the SPYL secretary Dr Elijah Ngurare, and also forwarded it to the top four leaders of Swapo, namely Pres Hifikepunye Pohamba, Dr Hage Geingob, Nangolo Mbumba, and Laura Mcleod, requesting the suspension of Amupanda, Nauyoma and Kambala
Nekundi argued that the Kleine Kuppe actions brought Swapo into disrepute and therefore immediate action should be taken against the three.
