ONGWEDIVA, 01 APR (NAMPA) – The opening of a Nictus furniture shop in Ongwediva has created 15 jobs for locals.
The new branch was officially opened on Friday by Oshana regional governor Clemens Kashuupulwa.
Addressing the inauguration gathering, Kashuupulwa said Nictus’ investment in Ongwediva has added value to the local economic growth.
He said the investment also created greater opportunities for customers to access high-quality furniture in the Oshana Region and the rest of northern Namibia.
“This investment comes at the right time when the region concurrently calls for investors to invest in the region to accelerate the process of job creation, economic growth and poverty reduction,” Kashuupulwa said.
Nictus’s head of marketing, Curly Carstens told Nampa here on Friday that the company has invested some N.dollars 10 million in its new branch established at Ongwediva in the Oshana Region last year.
Nictus has other branches in Windhoek, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Tsumeb.
Carstens noted that Nictus is the biggest independent furniture retailer in Namibia.
It established in Namibia on 05 June 1945, and the company imports its products from Germany.
