ONGWEDIVA, 13 FEB (NAMPA) – The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) is preparing for national elections this year.
NCCI chairperson of the Northern Branch, Tomas Iindji announced this during a meeting by leaders of the NCCI in northern Namibia at a local hotel on Wednesday.
Iindji reminded all NCCI branches under his jurisdiction to hold their annual general meetings (AGMs) and to elect new leaderships on or before 30 April 2014.
“All branches, as per Board resolution 08/13/2012 communicated to all branches on 05 September 2012, are expected to elect their new leaderships this year,” he noted.
Iindji said it is a NCCI constitutional requirement that elections are to be held not later than two months before the AGM of the chamber’s National Council in June this year.
Following the regional AGMs, the names and contact details of the new leaderships should be communicated to the company secretary, no later than seven days after such a meeting has concluded.
The NCCI Northern Branch has various satellite branches in northern Namibia at towns such as Ongwediva, Oshakati, Ondangwa, Helao Nafidi, Omuthiya, Okahao, Outapi, Okalongo and Ruacana.
