Woman stabbed to death with a spear in Rundu

KEHEMU, 11 FEB (NAMPA) - A young woman was stabbed to death with a spear at the Kehemu informal settlement on the outskirts of Rundu in the Kavango East Region on Monday afternoon.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Crime Investigations’ Coordinator here, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Tuesday that the 27-year-old woman was stabbed with a traditional spear on the right side of her chest.
She died on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Nkaila Ermelinde Muronga, a resident of that informal settlement.
Her next of kin have been informed, and police investigations continue.
The 63-year-old suspect is a brother of Muronga’s father-in-law.
The suspect was arrested immediately after the incident at about 18h00, and is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
