Pedestrian bumped to death on Rundu-Nkurenkuru road

KAHENGE, 04 JUN (NAMPA) - A 24-year-old woman died on Monday after she was bumped by a vehicle at the Rupara village along the Rundu-Nkurenkuru road.
The village is situated some 70 kilometres west of Rundu in the Kavango Region.
The Kavango Regional Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Crime Investigations? Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Tuesday that the driver of a Toyota pick-up vehicle bumped the pedestrian while was she was trying to cross the road at about 19h00.
The deceased was identified as Kasiku Hamutenya, a resident of the Rupara village.
Her next of kin have been informed of her death.
The driver of the vehicle was not arrested, but the police opened a case of culpable homicide.
