WINDHOEK, 06 FEB (NAMPA) – Political, commercial and economic cooperation between Namibia and Spain is solidifying every year.
This was the view of Spanish Ambassador to Namibia, María del Carmen Díez Orejas after she paid a courtesy call on President Hifikepunye Pohama at State House on Wednesday.
Speaking to members of the media after a closed-door meeting with Pohamba, Diaz said her aim of calling on the Head of State was to inform him about progress regarding the excellent relations which exist between Namibia and Spain since she took office some two years ago.
“I am very proud to say that we are really moving forward, and our relations are getting more and more solid, not only on the political point of view - which is excellent - but also commercial, economic and in cooperation,” she beamed.
The ambassador said the two sister countries are also doing well in the tourism, health, fishing, water and sanitation as well as small and medium enterprises’ sectors.
Diaz pointed out that Namibia and her country have not been cooperating in the infrastructure and energy sectors, and this needed to be looked into.
