Young woman decapitated at Oshakati

OSHAKATI, 05 FEB (NAMPA) A 24-year-old woman was found decapitated in an apartment at the Oshakati West suburb on Tuesday afternoon.
She has been identified as Miriam Tuyakula Nandjato from the Elombe village near Ongwediva.
The deceased was employed as a laboratory assistant for the Namibia Institute of Pathology (NIP) at Oshakati for the past two years.
Tenants of the same apartment complex told Nampa on Tuesday evening at the scene that the room in which the deceased was found in a pool of blood, belongs to a resident of the Okalongo Constituency in the Omusati Region.
More details regarding Nandjatos decapitation were not immediately available, as the police investigation officers approached by this news agency on the scene declined to comment.
Commander of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshana Region, Commissioner Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa was unavailable for comment since Tuesday evening.
This reporter was reliably informed on Wednesday morning that the owner of the apartment, whose name is available but cannot be mentioned at this stage, was arrested at a village in the Okalongo Constituency on Tuesday evening as a suspect in Nandjatos decapitation.
