Perennial rivers steadily rising

WINDHOEK, 03 FEB (NAMPA) – The Kavango, Kunene and Orange rivers are steadily rising due to good rains received over the areas.
The Namibia Hydrological Service (NHS) reported on Monday that the Kavango River in the Rundu area recorded a water level of 4.95 metres (m), compared to 4.94m on Sunday.
In the Mukwe area, the Kavango River recorded a water level of 3.01m, compared to Sunday’s 2.99m.
The Zambezi River in the Katima Mulilo site recorded a water level of 2.09m, compared to a water level of 1.58 a week ago, and 2.01m over the same period last year.
The east-central parts of the country also received good rains over past 24 hours.
More rain is expected over the eastern regions of Namibia.
