GUARD KILLED, COP WOUNDED IN CTOWN A security guard was shot dead and a police officer wounded during an armed robbery in Nyanga on Monday, Western Cape police said. Captain Frederick van Wyk said four men robbed a liquor store at Philippi Plaza, on the corner of Stock and Govan Mbeki roads in Cape Town, around 9.40am. The men shot dead the security guard and wounded a 32-year-old constable who arrived at the scene. The officer was transported to hospital in a critical condition.
