Woman found dead in Tsumeb

WINDHOEK, 26 JAN (NAMPA) – A 56-year-old woman was found dead in her bedroom in Tsumeb on Saturday at about 10h00.
Inspector Stephan Nuuyi of the Namibian Police Public Relations Division told a media briefing here on Sunday the deceased, Elsie Magretha Theart, lived at house No.1582 Eland Street in that town.
Her next of kin have been informed, and police investigations continue.
In an unrelated incident in the Erongo Region, a 32-year-old woman was raped by an unknown suspect at about 03h00 in Arandis on Sunday morning.
The suspect fled the scene after passers-by found him in the act. The suspect is still at large, and police investigations continue.
Three armed suspects with pistols robbed employees at the Puma petrol station in Omaruru and stole N.dollars 500 at about 03h20 on Sunday.
The suspects assaulted one staff member and held another at gunpoint before fleeing with the loot. Police investigations continue.
The police in Ondangwa are investigating case of a reckless and negligent driving after the driver of a motor vehicle, with registration number N141ND, lost control over the car, resulting in it overturning. The incident took place at about 03h00 on Sunday morning.
The driver and two passengers sustained injuries, and were admitted at the Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital.
Police investigations continue.
