Woman hangs herself at Chalikao village

KAHENGE, 23 JAN (NAMPA) - A 50-year-old woman hanged herself from a tree at Chalikao village in the Kavango West Region on Wednesday.
The village is situated in the Kahenge Constituency, some 140 kilometres west of Rundu.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Crime Coordinator in the Kavango regions, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Thursday the reason why the deceased hanged herself has not been established as no suicide note was left behind.
The deceased has been identified as Nkasa Sikonga Nakwa, a resident of Chalikao village.
Her body was discovered by family members who alerted the police.
The police have opened an inquest docket into the incident.
