GIPF celebrates 30 years of existence

WINDHOEK, 01 OCT (NAMPA) The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) will embark on an extensive information campaign countrywide to share vital information about the fund and highlight its achievements.
This forms part of its celebration of 30 years of existence. The fund was established in 1989 with only two employees - currently, it has a total of 244 employees.
In a media statement issued on Monday, GIPF Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer, David Nuyoma said GIPFs assets grew from N.dollars 6.89 billion in 1999 to the current status of over N.dollars 116 billion.
The campaign which runs from 01 to 30 October 2019 will highlight milestones GIPF has achieved over the 30 years and share testimonies of the funds staff members.
The campaign will also feature challenges the Government Institutions Pension Fund had incurred since inception, and how it has navigated through the storms, Nuyoma said.
