RUNDU, 30 SEP (NAMPA) – A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three men on Wednesday last week at Shighuru village in the Kavango East Region.
The Namibian Police Force's Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Kavango East Region, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, told Nampa on Monday that the incident happened at around 19h00.
Kanyetu said the suspects allegedly grabbed the girl on her arm and pulled her into the bushes before tying her arms and legs together and then having sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
One of the suspects, a 24-year-old man, has been arrested and is expected to appear before the Rundu Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The other two suspects have not yet been arrested and police investigations into the matter continue.
