WINDHOEK, 30 SEP (NAMPA) – Permanent residence permit (PRP) holders are not required to obtain a re-entry visa in order to enter or reside in Namibia, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration has announced.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the ministry said this is in accordance with the provision of Section 26 (5) of the Immigration Control Act 7 of 1993, which provides that PRP holders who have not yet acquired domicile and stay away from Namibia for a continuous period of two years, shall lose such PRP.
“However, those who wish to apply for the re-entry visa for their convenience can still apply for one at the prescribed fee,” it said.
Thus ministry said no PRP holders would be denied entry back to Namibia for this reason.
