OUTAPI, 27 SEP (NAMPA) – Nakayale Vocational Training Centre at Outapi held its first graduation on Thursday, with 129 students graduating in office administration, hospitality and tourism, food and beverage, commercial cookery and front office management.
Speaking during the event, Minister of Higher Education, Training and Innovation Dr Itah Kandjii-Murangi encouraged the graduates to focus on their dreams as they enter the job market.
“Positive energy is what makes any dream a reality. Without this we can easily experience discouragement, frustration and ultimately, failure in our life,” the minister said.
Calling on the graduates to become entrepreneurs by creating job opportunities for themselves and others, Kandjii-Murangi asked them to not just look to the government to provide employment.
Speaking at the same occasion, Omusati Governor Erginus Endjala noted that Nakayale Vocational Training Centre will next year be the first public institution to offer the Wholesalers and Retailers Level 2 course, while it also aims to introduce courses like road construction and maintenance.
“A very serious challenge, which is worrisome, is a lack of accommodation for trainees,” stated Endjala.
The graduation was held under the theme ‘Go confidently in the direction of your dreams’.
