OTJIWARONGO, 23 SEP (NAMPA) - A 29-year-old farmworker allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Farm Ouhave near the Osire Refugee Settlement in the Otjozondjupa Region on Saturday.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha told Nampa in an interview Monday the deceased has been identified as Jona Haingura Siyave.
Siyaves next of kin have been informed of his death.
Siyaves body was found on the farm on Saturday at midday, hanging from a tree with shoelaces still tied around his neck, Mbeha said.
The body was found by a passer-by and the motive behind the alleged suicide is still unknown to the police as no suicide note was found.
No foul play is suspected and an inquest docket has been opened at the Osire Police Station.
