WINDHOEK, 22 SEP (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) is investigating a case in which a woman, age unknown, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, before her shack was set on fire in the early hours of Sunday.

NamPol’s Spokesperson, Kauna Shikwambi, confirmed the incident to Nampa on Sunday, saying that the incident happened at around 04h00 at Namibia Nalitungwe informal settlement in Katutura.

The deceased’s body, burnt beyond recognition, was found in the shack.

It is suspected that the woman's boyfriend killed her first and then set the shack on fire as an axe was found stuck in her neck, and the neighbors heard them arguing earlier that morning at around 01h00.

The suspect has not yet been arrested and the deceased was later identified as Katrina Silas.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed of her death and police investigations in the matter continue.
