SWAKOPMUND, 22 SEP (NAMPA) – Rössing Uranium (RU) Limited has appointed Johan Coetzee as its Managing Director.
Coetzee’s duties in the new position commence on 14 October 2019, according to a media statement availed to Nampa by RU on Friday.
He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Desert Lion Energy Namibia and was employed as the MD of QKR Navachab Mine prior to his current role.
“His extensive mining career also includes various leadership roles at Skorpion Zinc and Ghana Manganese Company,” the statement added.
Coetzee replaces Richard Storrie as MD, who took up another position within the mine’s previous owners, the Rio Tinto group, following the sale of the group’s majority shareholding in the mine to China National Uranium Corporation (CNUC) earlier this year.
