Kautondokwa to fight Islam in Kazakhstan

REHOBOTH, 13 SEP (NAMPA) – Namibian boxer Walter ‘The Executioner’ Kautondokwa will face Kanat Islam on 26 October in Astana, Kazakhstan for the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Middleweight International title fight.
Kautondokwa is currently rated number 10 while Islam is rated at eighth place and is also the current WBO International champion.
A statement availed Thursday said Islam remains undefeated after 26 fights with an impressive 21 fights through knockouts (KO’s), while Kautondokwa has now fought 19 times with only one loss and an impressive 17 KO’s.
Kautondokwa bounced back from his world title fight loss against Demetrius Andrade last year October, with a second-round victory over Simeon Tcheta in May.
Nestor Tobias, trainer of Kautondokwa said they are back on the world stage with a very tough fight and his man is ready for the task at hand.
“This has been a big year for us with all three of our world rated boxers, Jeremia Nakathila, Kautondokwa and Mikka Shonena fighting world rated opponents which rarely happen in boxing,” he boasted.
Tobias concluded that the upcoming fight is critically important, “because a win will put Kautondokwa right back at the top where he belongs”.
