WINDHOEK, 11 SEP (NAMPA) – The Ministry of Works and Transport on Wednesday announced the appointment of Escher Luanda as the chairperson of the Air Namibia Board of Directors.
His appointment was confirmed to Nampa by the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Julius Ngweda.
The appointment follows the departure of former chairperson Advocate Deidre Sauls-Deckenbrock and her deputy Nangula Kauluma, who resigned on 05 September 2019.
Ngweda said Luanda, who is a member of the current board, was nominated by fellow board members as the chairperson, adding that a vice-chairperson still has to be decided upon by the board.
In the meantime, the ministry will deliberate on whether to appoint new members to the board to replace Sauls-Deckenbrock and Kauluma, said Ngweda.
