State House executive director Pakote shot

WINDHOEK, 10 SEP (NAMPA) – The executive director in the President’s Private Office, Moses Pakote, is currently receiving medical care at a local hospital, after he was shot by an unknown assailants at around 00h00 on Tuesday morning.
A media release issued by the Office of the President on Tuesday said that Pakote was shot at his residence.
“Pakote is recovering and the Presidency wishes to request media to respect his privacy and that of his family during this period,” said the statement.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner, Abner Agas, on Tuesday confirmed the incident and said no suspect was arrested as yet.
Pakote was appointed in that capacity by the Office of the Prime Minister in January 2019, after serving as deputy executive director, previously known as Permanent Secretary, in the vice president's private office.
