Ongwediva shooting victim dies

ONGWEDIVA, 10 SEP (NAMPA) – The 30-year-old Paula Rebeiro, who was shot and critically injured by her husband at Ongwediva on Friday, died Monday night.
She had been fighting for her life in the Ongwediva Medipark Private Hospital.
Confirming her death to Nampa on Tuesday, Inspector Thomas Aiyambo of the Namibian Police Public Relations Unit in the Oshana Region said she died around 20h20.
Her husband and owner of Grand Pub in Ongwediva, Manuel Rebeiro, 41, committed suicide on Friday by allegedly shooting himself in the head with the same pistol. He died instantly.
The shooting, for which the motive remains unknown, occurred in the couple’s house.
Their next of kin are informed.
