Hoachanas Football League concludes first leg

REHOBOTH, 09 SEP (NAMPA) – The first leg of the Hoachanas Development Trust Football League ended Sunday, with Black Stars topping the log after eight matches played, scoring 30 goals in the process and conceding only four.
Black Stars on Sunday crushed a hapless and still winless ||Goa-!Haob 10-0 to extend their lead at the top of the table to 19 points, while ||Kho-khoën defeated Sunrise 8-0 according to the results provided by executive member Edmundo Rooi.
In other matches also played on Sunday, Bafana Eleven and Stout Makers played out a goalless draw, while Biwa Eleven were brought down to earth by fast improving ||Kho-khoën in a 2-1 defeat.
All the matches took place at Dolam Stadium in Hoachanas.
Black Stars lead the log with 19 points, followed by Stout Makers and Biwa Eleven in second and third place respectively with 16 points, with Stout Makers having a better goal difference.
Hoachanas Children Fund sits in fourth spot with 15 points, while Bafana Eleven are in fifth place with 14 points and ||Kho-khoën in sixth place with 13 points.
SKW United are in seventh spot with four points, while Sunrise follow in eighth spot with three points and ||Goa-!Haob ninth with a solitary point.
A total of 150 goals were scored, with ||Goa-!Haob conceding 49 in eight matches.
Rooi said the resumption of the second leg will be decided at an executive meeting scheduled for Thursday.
He also said they face challenges of qualified match officials and called on local football authorities to assist them.
“We are trying to develop our own people to become experts one day and I am humbly calling on local experienced match officials to assist our officials through basic referee courses,” he pleaded.
