Woman allegedly killed by partner in Walvis Bay

WINDHOEK, 02 SEP (NAMPA) – A 36-year-old woman died after her throat was allegedly slit by her partner in Walvis Bay on Sunday.
The weekly crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force on Monday said they have arrested the 54-year-old man who the woman had been in a relationship with.
The couple were cohabiting in a shack in Kuisebmond where the incident is said to have occurred around 18h30.
In a separate incident, the body of Elia Hamundjembo, 20, was found hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck around 15h30 at Oshatotwa village in the Ohangwena Region on Saturday.
No suicide note was left behind.
His next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
Meanwhile, in the Hardap Region, the body of 65-year-old Andries Vries was found by a passer-by on a gravel road near the Mariental Cemetery on Sunday.
The police report said he had been admitted to the Mariental State Hospital and was visited by family at 19h00 on Saturday.
“A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” it said.
