ONGWEDIVA, 30 AUG (NAMPA) The Ongwediva branch of Indongo Toyota received a platinum award on Thursday after it was declared the best overall exhibitor of the 2019 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF).
The car dealer had a well-decorated outside stand showcasing a variety of Toyota vehicles.
It also won as the best exhibit in the automotive category.
Also receiving a platinum award during the awards ceremony was the Tulongeni MF Project, as the best exhibit in the made in Namibia category.
Khan International from India, exhibiting a kitchen range, was awarded best international exhibitors, while the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation was declared the best media.
Oshakati Premier Electric (OPE), which was last years best overall exhibitor, is this years best exhibitor in the energy sector.
OPE is a subsidiary company of the Oshakati Town Council responsible for the distribution of electricity to consumers within the Oshakati town boundaries.
Other winning exhibitors are Miko Coffee (small scale), the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (agriculture), Seaflower (fisheries and marine resources), the Namibia Tourism Board (tourism and hospitality), NamPost (banking institution) and Roads Authority (transport).
The manufacturing award went to Styrotex, Otjiwarongo Motors and Tractors got the industrial award, Ongwediva Town Council is the best in the regional and local authority council exhibition category and Ministry of Environment and Tourism took the governmental institutions prize.
Ghana Commission is best in beauty products, B&F Boutique received kudos in textile and clothing, Ndilimani Pottery Project got artefacts, traditional and indigenous products and Ceret is best in arts and crafts.
Also receiving awards were Ongwediva Medipark (health), Namibia University of Science and Technology (educational institutions), Bible Society of Namibia (stationery and publishing) and Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (information and communication).
A total of 451 exhibitors, of which 25 are international companies, are participating in the nine-day 2019 OATF which started last week Friday and ends on Saturday.
