OSHAKATI, 29 AUG (NAMPA) The police in the Oshana Region have called for assistance in tracing the suspects in a robbery involving N.dollars 100 000 at Oshakati on Tuesday.
Warrant Officer Frieda Shikole-Ashiyana of the Namibian Police Forces Public Relations Unit in the region made the call in a media statement on Wednesday, saying the men stole the money from a parked vehicle at Woermann Brocks Eluwa branch in Oshakati around 12h00.
The vehicle belongs to David Hiwanua Nakashole from Omufitu village in the Omungwelume district, Shikole-Ashiyana said.
Nakashole was reportedly in the shop and had left a child in the car.
It is alleged that the suspects got out of their white Toyota Corolla with tinted windows and approached Nakasholes car. A male suspect managed to take the money from under the seat in the vehicle, said Shikole-Ashiyana.
People in the vicinity were alerted to the incident when the child screamed for help.
The suspects fled the scene in the Corolla and have been at large ever since, she said.
The police could not say how many suspects were involved in the robbery. No one had been arrested in connection with the incident by Wednesday.
