Investigations in Keetmanshoop murder case pending

KEETMANSHOOP, 28 AUG (NAMPA) - Police investigations in the case of a 22-year-old man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend here last year, are still pending.
Immanuel Petrus allegedly stabbed 28-year-old Engeline Rooi at a bar in the Tseiblaagte residential area on 03 November 2018.
Rooi was declared dead upon arrival at the Keetmanshoop State Hospital.
Petrus appeared before magistrate Melissa Mungunda in the Keetmanshoop Magistrates Court on Wednesday, who postponed the case to 22 October for further police investigations.
During his first court appearance on 06 November 2018, Petrus informed the court that he wanted to apply for legal aid and Stephen Coetzee was appointed to represent him.
He was granted bail of N.dollars 3 000 on 08 April this year, on condition that he does not interfere with police investigations.
Further bail conditions are that the accused should report to the Keetmanshoop Police Station every Monday and Friday between 07h00 and 18h00 and not commit any offences while out on bail.
