Masilingi and Herunga to compete in 400m semi-finals at AG

RABAT, 27 AUG (NAMPA) – Beatrice Masilingi and Globine Mayova qualified for the semi-finals of the women 400 metre race after finishing their heats first and third respectively at the African Games (AG) on Tuesday.
The athletics championships at the 12th edition of the AG, which are being held in Rabat, Morocco, started on Monday.
The 16-year-old Namibian sprinter Masilingi finished first in her heat after running 53.33 seconds in heat four and beat the likes of Okon George of Nigeria, who finished second while Mayova came third in heat one with a time of 53.45 seconds.
Chukwuka Ofili of Nigeria won that heat in a time of 52.20 seconds.
The semi-finals of the women’s 400m were set to take place later on Tuesday at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
