WINDHOEK, 19 JAN (NAMPA) - Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery and shooting of a Brakwater resident last Sunday.
The suspects allegedly entered the house where the woman and her husband were watching television between 21h00 and 22h00, and pointed a knife and firearm at the couple.
One of the suspects then fired three shots at the woman, with two of the shots injuring her in the thigh and stomach.
The suspects got away with N.dollars 4 000 in cash, a laptop, a camera and other items.
The suspects, all in their 30s, were arrested in the Ombili residential area in Katutura, while one suspect is still at large.
The laptop worth around N.dollars 5 000 to 6 000 was recovered, and the firearm was later recovered after one of suspects’ house was searched.
“The laptop was in their possession when they were arrested, and we suspect that they were on their way to a buyer although the screen of the laptop is damaged,” Chief Abraham Kanime told Nampa on Sunday.
He added that due to intensified operations, officers from the City Police tailed the suspects after they had suspicions of who they might be.
Kanime added that one of the suspects is also sought for murder and assault in a separate case.
The woman is still admitted to the Mediclinic hospital, recovering from her injuries.
