ONGWEDIVA, 21 AUG (NAMPA) – A farmer at Okathitukonkayi village in the Omusati Region’s Okalongo Constituency, Petrus Soni Kashau, lost eight sheep killed under mysterious circumstances during the night between Saturday and Sunday.
Kashau explained to Nampa in a telephonic interview on Monday that suspected unidentified wild animals killed his sheep by inflicting holes in the necks, sucked their blood and left without eating the meat.
According to Kashau, he also lost 15 sheep in a similar manner last year.
“Ten goats and a pig were killed by the same type of animals at the village earlier this year too,” the farmer added.
Paw prints followed from the scene indicate that the animals are two, he noted.
“My sheep have been attacked and killed in the field at different spots near the crop field of my neighbour,” Kashau related.
