NamPol arrest 118, seize N.dollars 531 320

WINDHOEK, 14 AUG (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force made 118 drug related arrests and seized drugs worth N.dollars 531 320 in July.
A media statement issued by Head of the Namibian Police Force’s Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi on Wednesday stated that among the 118 arrested suspects, 106 are Namibian nationals, six Congolese, three Angolans, one Ethiopian, one South African and one Tanzanian.
Cannabis topped the list with 33 kilogrammes (worth N.dollars 331 600) seized, followed by 21 boxes of Yes cigarettes (N.dollars 105 000) and cocaine powder of 102 grams (N.dollars 51 000).
Some 214 tablets of Mandrax (N.dollars 25 680), 140 units of crack cocaine (N.dollars 14 000) and 404 grams of cannabis plants (N.dollars 4 040) were also confiscated.
