Hoachanas Football League starts with a bang

REHOBOTH, 12 AUG (NAMPA) – Round one and two of the Hoachanas Development Trust Football League played over the weekend saw a total of 26 goals scored, with Stout Makers Football Club contributing 11.
In the weekend results provided by league chairperson, Absalom |Hoxobeb on Monday, round one saw Stout Makers opening the campaign with a 1-0 win against ||Kho-khoën, while Biwa Eleven and Hoachanas Children Fund Football Club (FC) played out a goalless draw.
Sunrise FC defeated ||Goa-!Haob 3-2, while SKW United fell to a 4-2 defeat against Bafana Eleven.
In matches played on Sunday, the match between Hoachanas Children Fund and Black Stars ended goalless, while Stout Makers won their match against ||Goa-!Haob with a 10-0 score line.
Biwa Eleven upstaged Bafana Eleven 1-0, while ||Kho-khoën got one over Hoachanas Children Fund in a 1-0 victory.
The league was launched on 01 August this year with nine teams and caters for local players in Hoachanas as a grassroots development league.
The league was sponsored by Angelika Gleich to a tune of N.dollars 15 000.
“We believe that we will have more teams after this season so more players can be exposed to organised football structures. I call on other business owners to come on board and support this initiative for the development of players,” |Hoxobeb noted.
