WINDHOEK, 11 AUG (NAMPA) – President Hage Geingob on Sunday paid tribute to Tanzania after a deadly fire incident that followed after a fuel tanker crashed at Morogoro in Tanzania on Saturday.
The crashed tanker exploded while a crowd was trying to siphon off fuel and killed about 60 people while more than 70 people were seriously injured.
In a media statement, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) chairperson expressed his condolences to President John Magufuli saying this is a loss not only to Tanzania, but to the SADC region as a whole.
“Let me also wish those that have been injured in the accident a speedy recovery so that they are able to move on with their lives and contribute to the development of their country,” Geingob said.
