PDM suspends Tjikuua

WINDHOEK, 09 AUG (NAMPA) – The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) party has suspended the membership of Local Authority Councillor, Othniel Tjikuua.
According to a media statement issued by PDM on Thursday, the PDM management committee met on 11 July and took a unanimous decision to suspend Tjikuua’s membership to the party and as Local Authority Councillor on the Grootfontein Local Authority Council.
“Mr Tjikuua is hereby forbidden to participate in any PDM activities, including his work as the PDM representative in the Grootfontein Local Authority Council and its activities,” the statement reads.
The statement indicates that Tjikuua is suspended on grounds of gross insubordinations and violation of PDM Code of Conduct Schedule A (B).
PDM code of conduct schedule A (B) says every PDM member should spearhead and supports the mission, vision and objectives of the party.
The statement further indicates that Tjikuua was given 14 days, upon receipt of a suspension letter, to show cause as to why he should not be subjected to a disciplinary hearing.
