REHOBOTH, 08 AUG (NAMPA) – The Rehoboth Town Council (RTC) which has been without a chief executive officer (CEO) for a year, appointed Simeon Kanime as its new CEO effective from 01 August.
Urban and Rural Development ministerial representative at the RTC, Nathalia |Gôagoses confirmed the appointment on Thursday, saying Kanime started work on Monday.
“We advertised the position twice and truly struggled to appoint someone. Maybe the salary offered is small, that’s why it took so long to appoint someone,” |Gôagoses said.
RTC has been without a CEO after Christoph |Uirab was dismissed following his notice to the municipality of his intention to resign last year.
|Uirab tendered his resignation to the council on 20 June last year, to take effect end of November 2018. However, the council responded on 13 July 2018, informing him that they accept his resignation with 30 days’ notice, starting the day he handed in his resignation.
