Man arrested for dealing in cannabis

WINDHOEK, 04 AUG (NAMPA) - A 41-year-old man was arrested on Friday after he was found dealing with cannabis in the capital.
Namibian Police Force's spokeperson, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi told Nampa on Sunday, that the suspect was arrested at around 22h00 at the Gammams filling station in Khomasdal.
She said the suspect was allegedly found in possession of 11 parcels, and one small parcel of cannabis weighing 97 grams and valued at N.dollars 1 940.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident an Angolan national who was found dealing in cannabis was arrested and detained at the Wanaheda Police Station on Saturday at around 14h00.
The suspect, a 34-year-old man was found in possession of cannabis valued at N.dollars 177 000 at Okuryangava.
In a separate incident, a 27-year-old man was arrested for arson, after he allegedly set his ex-girlfriend's corrugated iron house on fire on Sunday.
The incident occurred between 00h00 and 01h00 in Macaroni Street at Stampriet in the Hardap Region.
It is alleged that the suspect was out on bail for allegedly raping his biological daughter. One of the bail conditions was not to come in contact with the complainant and that he would remain in the Stampriet area.
The house was unoccupied at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported, however, all items in the house were unrecoverable.
The value of the items destroyed has not yet been established.
The suspect is expected to appear at the Aranos Magistrates Court on Monday.
