REHOBOTH, 02 AUG (NAMPA) - Brave Warriors interim coach, Bobby Samaria, on Friday announced his match-day squad to face Comoros on Sunday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the second leg of the 2020 African Nations Championship (Chan) Qualifiers.
The Brave Warriors go into the second leg leading 2-0 on aggregate, following the teams impressive win away from home last Friday.
A statement availed to Nampa on Friday said victory for the Brave Warriors on Sunday will take them over the line and into the final round of the qualifiers to face either Mozambique or Madagascar.
Black Africa forward, McCartney Naweseb, is a notable inclusion in the team, replacing Young Brazilians Revered Matroos.
Samaria also clarified that players such as Petrus Shitembi and Virgil Vries have been training with the team as national team players, while they sort out their professional contracts outside Namibia, with one eye on future matches.
We have Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers later this year as well, and if the players want to train, we should accommodate them because they are the backbone of the national team and that does not mean they will feature for Chan until they are registered locally, Samaria was quoted as saying.
The Brave Warriors for the Comoros clash on Sunday include Ratanda Mbazuvara, Kamaijanda Ndisiro, Charles Uirab, Ivan Kamberipa, Obrey Amseb, Marcel Papama, Gustav Isaak, Larry Horaeb, Junias Theophilus, Aprocious Petrus, Immanuel Heita, Dynamo Fredericks (Captain), Vitapi Ngaruka, Emilio Martin, Wendell Rudath, Llewelyn Stanley, Absalom Iimbondi, Gregory Aukumeb, Isaskar Gurirab, Elmo Kambindu and McCartney Naweseb.
