WINDHOEK, 30 JUL (NAMPA) – In celebrating women’s month in August, the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) presents an all-female Namibian musical titled ‘Every Woman’ under its Director’s Lab Project from 01 to 03 August.
In a media statement issued Monday, NTN Public Relations Officer Desiree Mentor said the plot of ‘Every Woman’ surrounds Grace who is hosting her friend Amelia’s bridal shower and all her close friends are presents.
The musical is written and directed by Senga Brockerhoff with musical direction and choreography by Lize Ehlers and Nikhita Winkler respectively.
She added that Amelia’s pedantic sister, Amanda, and Grace’s ice-queen boss, Victoria, are also in attendance and the women discuss motherhood, men, marriage and “all things in between”.
However later during a game, secrets and resentment pour out - which threaten to tear the sisters apart and perhaps even derail the wedding, said Mentor.
The cast of ‘Every Woman’ features Jeanne-Danae Januarie as Amelia the bride; a sensitive soul who’s always tried to do the right thing, Amelia’s overly critical sister Amanda played by Senga Brockerhoff, with Chantel ‘Enchante’ /Uiras and Lize Ehlers playing the roles of Grace and Ruth; high school friends of the bride. Grace’s cheeky assistant Frankie is played by Mikiros Garoes.
Lavinia Kapewasha plays Victoria; a hard-nosed businesswoman who worked her way to the top of the advertising industry - she is also Amanda and Grace’s boss. Heather ‘Miss H’ Dennis plays Maxine; a florist and childhood friend of the bride, with Jennifer Timbo as Mitzy - a free-spirited hippy who greatly cares for the environment and her friends.
Tickets are available from all Computicket outlets nationwide at N.dollars 100 for the general public and N.dollars 80 for senior citizens and students.
