WINDHOEK, 26 JUL (NAMPA) – Namibia’s senior men’s national football team, the Brave Warriors, plummeted eight places down the latest International Federation of Association Football (Fifa) world rankings released on Thursday.
The team, ranked 113th in the world and 28th in Africa in June, is now ranked 121st in the world and 30th in Africa.
On the African continent, Senegal remains the top ranked team, followed by Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Morocco and Egypt.
Belgium remains the top ranked country, followed by Brazil, France, England and Uruguay.
The current ratings come at the backdrop of the national team having performed indifferently this year.
The Brave Warriors played Zambia in February and lost 4-1 in Lusaka before winning two matches in the Council of Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) Cup, and losing one.
They then beat Ghana in unofficial friendly before losing three group matches to Morocco, South Africa and Ivory Coast at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
