Erongo best performing region in NSSC ordinary level exams

WINDHOEK, 15 JAN (NAMPA) - The Erongo Region has once again topped the list as the best performing school in the Grade 12 Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC) Ordinary Level results for full-time candidates.
Announcing the 2013 NSSC Ordinary Level results in the capital on Wednesday, Education Minister David Namwandi said Oshikoto also remained at number two, while the Otjozondjupa Region moved up five places - from eighth to third position.
The Ohangwena Region is at number four in the rankings, moving up two places from the sixth place in 2012. Kavango remained at number five, and Khomas moved up one place to sixth place in the 2013 NSSC Ordinary Level results.
Khomas is followed by the Hardap Region which dropped four places from three in 2012 to seven in 2013, while Omusati moved up by one place to eighth place. The Omaheke Region also improved its ranking from 12th place in 2012 to ninth place in 2013.
The //Karas Region moved up three places - from 13th place in 2012 to 10th place in 2013.
Oshana remained at the same position at number 11, while Kunene dropped two places to 12th position.
The Zambezi Region dropped a staggering nine places - from fourth place in 2012 to 13th place in 2013.
Meanwhile, St Boniface College in the Kavango Region once again landed in first place amongst the top 20 NSSC Ordinary Level schools on the basis of the 2013 national examination for full-time candidates.
St Boniface is followed by St Paul's College in the Khomas Region, which also held the second position last year.
ELCIN Nkurenkuru High School moved from 16th position in 2012 to third position in 2013, while Canisianum Roman in the Omusati Region moved up from the sixth position in 2012 to the fourth place in 2013, followed by Negumbo Senior Secondary School (SSS) which climbed from 10th place to fifth place.
Gobabis Gymnasium Private School in Omaheke is at number six in 2013 – up from 15th place in 2012, while Oshigambo SSS in the Oshikoto Region moved from fifth place in 2012 to seventh place in 2013.
Windhoek Gymnasium Private School in the Khomas Region moved from fourth place in 2012 to eighth place in 2013.
Juuso Shikongo Secondary School (SS) in the Oshikoto Region is at ninth place, moving down from seventh place in 2012, followed by Delta SS in the Khomas Region. Delta moved from eighth place in 2012 to 10th place in 2013, while Heroes Combined School in the Oshikoto Region which sat for its NSSC full-time examinations for the first time, is in 11th place.
Otjiwarongo SS in the Otjozondjupa Region moved up from 23rd place in 2012 to 12th position in 2013, followed by Duneside Private School in the Erongo Region which moved up from 25th place in 2012 to 13th position in 2013.
Namib High School, also in the Erongo Region remained at the 14th position.
Gabriel Taapopi SSS in the Oshana region moved from 17th to 15th position, Haimbili Haufiku in the Ohangwena Region moved from 13th to 16th position, and The University Centre for Studies in Namibia (TUCSIN) in the Khomas Region moved to 17th place from the 20th place in 2012.
Karibib Private School in the Erongo Region moved up from 91st to 18th position, Walvis Bay Private School in the same region moved from 31st to 19th place, and St Joseph's Roman Catholic School in the Khomas Region moved up - from 68th to 20th position.
