Sanlam launches first service office in Katutura

WINDHOEK, 12 JUL (NAMPA) - Sanlam officially opened its first service office in Katutura on Friday, after 100 years of operation as part of an inclusive client-centred strategic focus.
Speaking at an occasion for the official launch held in the capital, Sanlam Chief Executive Officer, Tertius Stears, said that since the company’s establishment, clients had to travel from Katutura to the main branch in the city centre for services, which was often either far for them or costly.
Stears added that after some extensive research and numerous requests from its clients, as well as the development of a new strategic plan which prioritises client services, a decision was taken to open an office in Katutura.
“The new Sanlam Katutura office will provide all the services provided by all our major offices around the country so that clients no longer have to go to any other office for additional services,” he added.
Stears said through the establishment of the Katutura branch, as well as offices opened in Outapi in the Omusati Region and in Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region in June this year, the company created over 30 jobs for Namibians.
Speaking at the same occasion, Senior Technical Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Finance, Penda Iithindi, said the opening of the branch resonates well with the national development agenda for inclusive and sustainable growth, which places people at the centre of development.
“It is a business vision which resonates well with the financial sector strategy objectives of broad-based financial inclusion and expanded access to financial products and services,” he said.
