WINDHOEK, 08 JUL (NAMPA) – The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) on Monday started its countrywide supplementary voter registration ahead of the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for 27 November 2019.
Speaking to Nampa at a registration point erected at the Roman Catholic Hospital in the capital on Monday, ECN Registration Officer, Asnath Kaffo said the registration process commenced on a good note.
“The spirit is good. We have not experienced any challenges so far. We just hope the public comes forth and applies for their voting cards to avoid unnecessary delays,” she emphasised.
She said the supplementary registration is meant for new applicants, people with lost or damaged voting cards, as well as those who have changed their essential data such as residence and names.
The process will end on 27 July.
