WINDHOEK, 02 JUL (NAMPA) A 30-member training squad for the senior national team that will participate in the 2019 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) Womens Championship, was announced here Tuesday.
The tournament will run from 31 July until 11 August 2019.
Newly appointed Brave Gladiators coach Uerikondjera Mamie Kasaona made the announcement at Football House in Windhoek. The largely experienced team includes Spain-based midfielder-cum-striker Zenatha Coleman as captain.
The coach said they will go to the tournament with the aim of competing rather than participating.
Winning is not the most important thing, but is the only thing when it comes to tournaments. My objectives are results and to reach the next level, she said.
Kasaona further said being named coach does not faze her as she has previously coached most of the players.
They know me and I know them. I do not to transform in any way. I will have the player-coach relationship with players.
Kasaona will be assisted by former Brave Warriors winger Robert Nauseb, while Mervin Mbakera has been named as the coach for the Under-20 national team.
