WINDHOEK, 29 JUN (NAMPA) – The Road Fund Administration (RFA) and Roads Authority (RA) donated a combined N.dollars 12 million towards drought relief on Friday.
Road Fund Administration Board Chairperson, Penda Iithindi and RA Chief Executive Officer, Conrad Lutombi, presented President Hage Geingob with the cheque after the inauguration of the Roads Authority head office in Windhoek.
Geingob welcomed the donation.
“This is the kind of initiative I would like to see from all Namibians,” he said.
Namibia faces a severe drought and Geingob in May this year declared a state of emergency.
Since then, a number of donations have been received for the drought relief programme, amongst others from the embassies of the United States of America, India and Russia.
