WINDHOEK, 13 JAN (NAMPA) – A woman is fighting for her life in the Mediclinic hospital after two armed robbers entered her home at Brakwater just outside the capital and shot her on Sunday night.
The woman and her husband were seated in the living room of their home watching television when the unknown suspects entered the house between 21h00 and 22h00 and pointed a knife and firearm at the couple.
One of the suspects then fired three shots at the woman, with two of the shots injuring her in the thigh and stomach.
City Police Chief Abraham Kanime confirmed the incident on Monday, saying the suspects got away with N.dollars 4 000 in cash, a laptop, a camera and other items.
The man was not harmed.
“The area was quiet for some time without any robberies or housebreaking incidences reported but now it is starting again, and we can only rely on information from the public if they see anything suspicious in that area,” he said.
He said a team of officers will start with intensified operations and patrol the area once again.
The stolen items have not been recovered yet and no arrests have been made.
