WINDHOEK, 20 JUN (NAMPA) - The Salute Boxing Academy (SBA) will host its second boxing bonanza for the year themed ‘The Clash of the Titans’ at the Ramatex Hall in Windhoek on 10 August 2019.
Ten bouts are scheduled for the boxing bonanza, with three national titles on the line, including the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Title as well as the African Boxing Union (ABU) Title.
Some boxers anticipated to fight on the night are Nathanael Kakololo; Albinius “Danny Boy” Felesiano; Lukas Ndafoloma and Anthony Jarmann against unidentified opponents from Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Speaking at a media briefing here on Thursday, SBA Executive Chairperson, Kiriata Kamanya, said all preparations are in order and called on the Namibian nation to fill up the Ramatex Hall to cheer for the boxers.
Speaking at the same occasion, Manager of Corporate Affairs and Communications at MTC, John Ekongo, suggested that the boxing stable decentralise the sport to the southern parts of the country.
“You hosted your first event of the year in Rundu and I hope you have plans of hosting a boxing event in the South as that part of the country does not get these types of events, and as for those going to fight on the night I wish them all the best,” he said.
Ekongo also called on the Namibian nation to come out in numbers to support the boxers as it will mean a lot to them.
Kakololo, who will compete for the ABU Africa Featherweight Title, said he is ready to deliver when he faces his South African opponent, Toto Helebe.
Feliciano told the media that there will be fire in the ring when he takes on Peter Pambeni of Zimbabwe in their 12 round WBO Lightweight African Title
