HHRC to host racing event at Aminuis

WINDHOEK, 20 JUN (NAMPA) - The Harambee Horse Racing Club (HHRC) will be hosting its eight edition of its horse racing competition at Itumeleng turf in Aminuis constituency of the Omaheke Region on Saturday.
Speaking to Nampa on Thursday, Karahii Kavari, one of the competition’s organisers, said the competition has so far attracted 40 horses to compete in 16 categories.
He added that the HHRC has set aside N. dollars 70 000 to be shared among the winnings, in addition to the traditional prize of sheep to be won in the ‘A Division’ and ‘Thorough-bred’ categories.
“These are aimed at motivating winners and at the same time add value to competition as well,” explained Kavari.
Seasonal horses like Von Trotha, Icon, Back Bani, Bullet, Warm Pack, Blou, Rock Hampton Rocket, Tate Omukuendata are among those expected to compete in the competition.
The HSC was formed in 2015 and is responsible for sporting activities as well as other social activities in the Aminius area.
