Lifeless baby body found at Keetmanshoop

KEETMANSHOOP, 20 JUN (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas Region are investigating a case in which a baby was found dead on Wednesday.
NamPol’s crime investigations coordinator for //Kharas, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa the body was found in the Westdene residential area around 07h15 Wednesday morning.
“The lifeless body of a baby girl was found tightly-bound in a black plastic bag by the owner of a house where the baby was found. The owner alleged that the body was brought into his yard, probably by his dog,” said Mubebo.
He added that it was observed that the left arm of the baby’s body was missing and the body was also slightly decomposed.
“At this point we do not know how old the baby is,” he said.
A case of murder read with domestic violence and concealment of birth has been opened.
No arrest has been made and police investigations continue.
